So, I was busy ....real busy...the guys in my house even thought I moved out because they never saw me in the last month....
Busy with finishing up my website...
busy with getting all the financial official stuff for my online shop done....
busy with my study...
The last two days we had a workshop arround certain water colour technics:
As preparation we made a drawing (left) of a shoulder blade (scapula) which we would paint (right) then in the method we got introduced to in the morning.
PS: The deadline for opening my online shop and starting my new website is set in april!! STAY TUNED!!!

Promise
As promised the steps I took with my dog assignment:
After a quick sketch of the 'real' dog (muscle structure in plaster stone) I constructed the skeleton. I worked out the first traditional pencil drawing for my assignment.
As a next step I put the drawing of the skeleton in the context of the outlines of the dog.
While I did the first parts partially at home I worked on the full drawing of the dog in school.
When the drawing of the plaster dog was finished I did the same as with the drawing of the skeleton just the other way around. I made a digital version of the skeleton drawing and put it on top of the drawing of the dog.
And finally the digital version of the skeleton (which certainly was the hardest for me to make because I never made such a complicated drawing in Illustrator).

Pretty little dog!
So, finally I finished the dog drawing. It felt like ages. It actually were ages compared to other assignments....
It is the drawing of the muscles of the skeleton dog I posted before ... It took so longe because I got messed up and confused inbetween. We get so much supervision that you sometimes end up with three different opinions (besides your own). Pretty confusing.
Next post will be about how I put the skeleton and the muscle drawing together.
After that ....I have to start drawing a torso...poorly not too exciting.
It is the general plastic model you also have in schools (Somso model).
I already know that it looks way different in reality since we had our anatomy introduction last week. Anatomy introductions meant for me the first time seeing a dead body and touching it and organs.
yeah, in the end, not so freaky as it sounds.
The next time I will tell you more about that part since we will have more lessons in the university hospital in the next weeks.

Sneak Peak: Website
Here a little preview for my 'new' website layout:
It's quite similar to the old idea, just fresher and with more depth :)

I want more!
A happy new year to you all :) I hope all of you spent New Years Eve with people you love.
So, it seems from where I am now that nothing much happened last year and nothing much is moving right now.
But when I look back I am quite happy what I accomplished last year.
I finished my internship in Berlin and can look back on a lot of experience I gathered there.
My webshop got online and I made a lot of Morlos just waiting in my shelves to be sold.
I made my first website and launched it in may.
I finished my study (although with a delay)
made my first real book for it
and started my Master Degree Program in Scientific Illustration with just three other students in my class.
And that is where I am now. Not as bad as I thought in the first moment. Strange, how sometimes this stuff seems to be ages ago and you feel stuck although you are not. I bet everybody of you know the feeling. So it is good to have a break, look back and be proud about your accomplishments. Back then it maybe even seemed impossible and now they're peanuts.(hmmm.....peanuts....I am getting food, just one moment)
BUT
I want more...yes :) still....
At the moment I am working on my new website layout. Scientific Illustration is great, but I still have to get so much better and more important I have to get way faster. There are a handful of paintings waiting to be finished and even more Morlos to be made/finished/sold.....ahhh....yeah....Morlos. My online shop is still placed on hold due to German bureaucracy. But I hope it will REALLY open soon. My digital skills are getting polishedor atleast I try to make them a lil shiny and I hope I can upload more of that stuff in future as well and I started a super awesome secret project what I hope will turn out great.
I hope everybody will have a great year 2012 (and NO, I don't believe our world will end then).

Good dog!
My next assignment :) to reconstruct a dog skeleton...later I will finish the dog in the visualization of the muscels and put the two pictures together.
In short time I will have vacation and hopefully upload something else than my school assignments.
Maybe there will be an update concerning my website as well.....hopefully.

My skeleton
Hei folks
finally I am able to show some sign of life. I was pretty much stressed out with my study and will be for the next two years...
so I will let you see the first assignment I had to do:
the whole thing is 100x70cm (lifesize skeleton). Each student had his/her 'own' skeleton to portrai. In the end we had to add a legend, but I like the illustration more without it :)
Hope I will be able to update some information soon. I will just give two hints: New Website WIPs, Online shop (?)

Some more bubble love!!
I finished the third piece in my 'bubble-deer'-series:
"Oh my deer, I think I have a frog in my throat!"
This series will hopefully have six pieces in the end.
btw: I probably will not write too often anymore :/ my master is getting really exhausting. But....in a good way. I love getting back in realistic drawing and I am learning so much there....only thing is: we are heading towards winter and we have no lights there....which makes it impossible to work there in the evening, but I am not a morning person either .....mepmep...
Ahja, aaaaand I am easily distracted :P concentration....biggy....but I hope I will get better in sitting there for hours drawing, not getting distracted ....
Maybe I can show you soon what I did the last 5 weeks.
Stay positive everyone!
